Learning Leadership
In all our classes, students are given the opportunity to practice leadership skills. Higher ranks assist with lower ranks. Older students can help with younger students. All of our students are working hard to prepare for the upcoming J.K. Lee Fall Tournament of Champions. In class, we talk about what judges look for during the competition. It’s time again for tournament so we are reviewing the 5 P’s: Prior preparation prevents poor performance! We are working hard in class on our forms and board breaking kicks. It’s obvious how the Five P’s apply to competition but in our mat chat we take it a step further. We apply it to our homework and tests. We see the benefit in our dance and sporting events. March is National Nutrition Month! What you eat and drink is as an important part of your self defense practice as your blocks and strikes. Good food choices make your body and mind feel better! Everyone is different. There is no diet plan perfect for everyone. Make sure you listen to your doctor and pediatrician. 1. Be mindful of what you are eating! A Black Belt Example: Courtesy
It was a high energy class, the students enjoying the relays, kicks and punches, while showing respect to the instructors by listening and following directions the first time. But when we lined up to get a drink of water, multiple arguments broke out over who was where first. Beginning with Meditation
We begin each class with some meditation time. Students sit cross legged, eyes closed for anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes. Deep breath in, deep breath out.
